A quick at how the Capital Area Agency on Aging supports Goochland County.
In Glen Allen, Senior Connections recently assisted an 80-year-old resident with critical home repairs. The gentleman, who had lived in his home for over 30 years and was previously adept at home maintenance, faced a severe leak in one of his upstairs rooms. The leak had caused significant damage, including rotted drywall, and his mobility issues prevented him from addressing the problem himself.
We were able to help by contracting a local roofing company to repair the roof and replace the damaged ceiling. This timely support was crucial, especially with the approach of tropical storms. The repairs were completed efficiently, ensuring the safety and integrity of the home. This case highlights the impact of community resources in aiding older adults with home maintenance challenges, ensuring their ability to stay in their own homes.
The work we do directly touches the lives of thousands of people in Henrico. From providing meals to those in need to advocating for the rights of older adults, our impact in the community is broad and substantial.
We can put another story in this place and help tell about how we serve the county.
