Foster Grandparents/Mentors

Foster Grandparents are role models and mentors to children who need additional support.  The program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over to stay active by serving children and youth in their communities.

FGP in Richmond

Most area partners are non-profit or faith-based child care centers located in Richmond, Henrico or Chesterfield. Our Foster Grandparents work with a wide age range of children, from infants to age 12. For infants and toddlers, we provide comfort, care, and additional support to ensure children are reaching developmental milestones. For our preschool and school aged children, we work on building academic and socio-emotional skills to help students succeed in and out of school.
